Losing weight is something that we all want to accomplish; and so in order for this to be done, we must make changes in the way we eat.  Exercising plays an important part when it comes to weight loss, but it is not the major factor.  In order to achieve a long, healthy life-style, dieting is the top dog when it comes to weight management.  I am not trying to discourage exercising by any means but we should make priorities for good health.

• At mealtimes, make sure to consume some good, healthy fats.  We tend to shrink when we hear the word “fat” because this is something that we all want to avoid.  Believe it or not, there are two types of fats; and they are the good, healthy fats and the bad ones.  The reason for eating the good, healthy fats is that it will help in the fat burning process and muscle building.  It also helps regulate your appetite so that you will feel full longer.

If you are coming from my e-zine article, the next couple of paragraphs will recap some of the things that I have discussed in my article.  The foods that I have mentioned in the article have suggested the following foods that contain good, healthy fats and I will mention them here on my website, and they are:  Raw nuts, egg yolks, avocados, meats, coconut oils and extra virgin olive oil.  These are just a few items that I have listed to help you lose weight and build muscles fast.

Here are some suggestions that I am going to give you; eat some raw nuts (this includes almonds, peanuts, pecans, walnuts, cashews).  Here is some food for thought, eat some nuts ½ hour before you eat a regular meal.  The protein and fibers that are contained the nuts will help settle your appetite down so you will not overeat or go for seconds.  The nutritional value of eating nuts is just some of the benefits that come from it.

• Protein is a key player.  It helps to rebuild muscle after a workout and it also play a role in losing weight.  When you are on the road or at work, have a protein shake to help quell the hunger pains.  Consuming protein will help you to get that lean, rock hard body that you have always wanted so be sure to get high quality protein when you go to the shopping market.

• This next subject that I am going to talk about deals with carbohydrates.  I tend to frown upon low carbohydrate diets for many reasons.  When I was on a 500 calorie diet, one of the requirements for this diet is that you cannot have carbs.  The human body must have carbohydrates in order to function properly and I tell you, that I had some physical problems when I got off the 500 calorie diet.  So I do not recommend low calorie, low carb diets in any form.  Portion control is a key player in order to lose weight!

• Use portion control when it comes to eating pastas, breads, bagels or other grain sources and focus you attention more solely on fruits and vegetables.
